Flag Football All-Stars / S.O.M. cLoe Edition
Well, yesterday was the women Philippine flag football league’s All-Star day. The different teams of the WPFFL picked several people from the team to participate in the different games installed for the day.
There were 8 different games for each of the teams to compete on (longest kick, longest punt, deflagging, longest throw, most accurate throw, fastest run 40yards, fastest run 80 yards, most accurate snap), and a finale game where all teams were mixed and divided into two for the patintero game! Really! Patintero!
I participated in the deflagging game where I had to deflag 10 people in 10 seconds. The most number of flags deflagged within 10 seconds wins. I and the rest of the participants were only able to deflag 8 flags, while one person, the winner, got to deflag 9 flags within the time limit.
After all the 8 team vs. team games, it was time for the patintero. The stipulations were the same with the original Philippine patintero aside from the fact that instead of just touching the opponent to be the offensive team, the “taya” or the defensive team needs to deflag one of the opponent team’s member. Cool! I knew it would be fun because patintero used to be my favorite street game when I was a kid. All the 6 ladies' teams (about 60 players) were mixed and divided into two –the red and the yellow team. I belong to the latter. At first, both teams kept on deflagging the opponent when they were the defensive team. A time out was called and after that, the teams were given two chances to win as many points as they could. It was the yellow team fist who tried to win a point but we failed because someone from our team was deflagged. Next it was the red teams’ turn to earn points. They were able to gather 2 points which made our team more determined. Our turn came and it was the most wearing part of the entire game because we were pressured to earn points. 5 in our team, including me were able to pass the red team’s defenders and were ready to score. We were “homing”, as what it was usually called. Imagine 5 points if all five of us were able to pass through the last line of defenders. Unfortunately, one of the members behind us who couldn’t move forward due to strict defenders on the line stepped back into where she came from, which was against the rules. We lost due to that but it was really fun! Really really fun! I felt I was a kid again! Plus, we had a free shirt just for the event! COOL!
Also, i wore my new pair of long socks! hehe

After the all-star games, I, MJ, KC, and Juan went to Shinjuku Ramen House in Makati to dine with MJ’s parents. I was able to eat the most delicious Gyoza I have ever tasted in my entire life! Hehe!
This is MJ
After the dinner, we went straight to MJ’s house and had some drinks. We talked about life, friends, football, and some sentimental stuff which drew us closer to each other. We also took some pictures and a video of Mj’s crib and ate lots of vodka candies! That was hella good time!
